Does Age Really MATTER?

I decided to step out this weekend with two of my girlfriends for drinks, and i met some very interesting MEN this weekend. I was approached by a gentlemen who was a nice looking man, but judging by his conversation i could tell he was younger then myself. I asked him is age, and he immediately said "OLD ENOUGH"<-----Red Flag Ladies. I knew by that statement he wasn't even 30 years old. So i asked him again his age and he said "23"? All i could do was just stare at him, because the conversation was OVER. Although i was flattered by his many compliments, I knew that there was NOTHING i could do with a 23yr old other then the OBVIOUS. lol. Is it possible to have a successful relationship with someone who's a lot younger then yourself? I mean look at Demi and Ashton, although they looked great TOGETHER, Their mindsets were completely DIFFERENT, and the end result was of course SPILTSVILLE. I know that some will argue that age doesn't matter, but i beg to differ.<---but hey that's just my opinion :)
